Notes on a paper stock

Why our activity and coloring titles are printed single-sided on uncoated 100 gsm.

The complaint we heard most often about coloring books was not about the drawings. It was about the paper.

Markers ghost. Pencils skid on coated stock. Perforations tear crooked. None of these are interesting problems, which is probably why so many books have them.

So for The Quiet Menagerie we moved to an uncoated 100 gsm sheet, printed one side only, with a clean perforation two centimetres inside the gutter. It costs more per unit and the book is thicker than it needs to be. It is also the version we would want to own.
